2nd Annual ‘To Write Love on Her Arms’ Day.

I’m breaking away from politics because my constitution can no longer stand the redundancy.  I have to draw the line somewhere.  So, in the spirit of goodwill and faith, I want to share something that offers hope to anyone in need.  During the summer, as I sat bored, exhausted, and Myspace surfing in my Public Speaking class, I stumbled across a charity that peaked my interest.  Said organization focuses on reaching out to anyone who is depressed, suicidal, addicted, lost, and confused and tries to instill in them a sense of purpose.  They want to aid those who suffer in their fight to overcome.

It began with one girl and the friends who carried her through the pain.  Now, as a collective, they lift many onto proverbial shoulders.  They do so with a message of love, hope, charity, and most importantly, faith.  A belief that Christ can lift us all above ourselves and that we can aid each other rather than oppress.  Sadly, many feel that no one can understand their station in life.  Regrettably, they continue to suffer alone, refusing to ask for help or reach out to those who care.  It is a plague that inflicts everyone.  The lack of hope is all consuming and we’re all just a step away.

In good faith, To Write Love On Her Arms extends a hand to a population that is frequently overlooked: the jaded youth of the world.  They reach out through God, music (mostly Indie), and a message that inspires rather than condemns.

So, I’m asking anyone who stumbles on this blog to boldly proclaim your support of those who desperately need it.  Write LOVE on your arm in giant letters on November 13, 2008.  See, the funny thing about that word is that it is neither hateful nor oppressive.  People tend to respond to it.  They reach out for it and someone just might reach out to you because of it…

Think about it.

I’ll be sporting the word that day and I’ll have many pictures to post.  Here are some links should you want more information:

1.  To Write Love On Her Arms official website.
2.  2nd Annual ‘To Write Love On Her Arms’ Day Facebook page.
3.  To Write Love On Her Arms Myspace page.

Remember that we all suffer in kind and we all want someone to understand.  God Bless!
