My Obscurities

I’m sleepy tonight.  That’s a good thing but I place blame on the repetitive election coverage that I keep watching.  Like a train wreck.  I cannot turn my head.  I cannot peel my eyes away from the screen and the disappointment that is staring me in the face.  I also cannot pretend to be overjoyed at the outcome.  To do so would be erroneous and I outright refuse to do so. 

It’s 1057pm right now and in three minutes that nation will know how California voted.  Waiting with somewhat bated breath for the inevitable.  I highly doubt that they will swing Republican.

But, the light in the tunnel is that history has been made.  This country has finally transcended boundaries that really should have been broken ages ago.  It pleases me to know that we have branched out into unknown territory.  It’s literally about time that our country broadens horizons and breaks further boundaries.  It’s about time, America, and I salute you for choosing minorities for both parties.  I further salute your decision to elect Obama despite my obvious political leanings.  

I prayed hard for a victory for McCain but it was purely out of my own political ideals.  Further, and perhaps most important, I prayed for His will to be done and I know that has happened.  I wish President Obama the best of luck during his term and I pray that God will give him the wisdom to pull us out of our decline.
